I always loved painting as a child and always looked forward to art at school and so it seem a natural progression to pursue something creative.
After a foundation course in art and a degree course in graphic design in 1982 I followed a career in design which I am still involved in to this day.
In recent years I have turned back to painting as a reaction to hours spent designing on a Mac.
I have been a demonstrator for Daler-Rowney and have taught art courses at Bracknell College for some years.

The Pre-Raphaelites, especially Hunt and Millais have inspired me ever since college with their attention to detail and vibrant colours. The Impressionists never cease to inspire me with their freedom and spontaneity.
I enjoy painting subjects with sunlight and shadows and strong vibrant colours. I often paint botanical subjects, still life or landscapes.
